11/01/2021 – On Friday, January 8th the GNA leader Fayez al-Sarraj met with an Italian government delegation led by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio; the official meeting took place in Palazzo Chigi.

Hamza Discuss With Italian Ambassador Supporting Stability and Development in Southern Libya.

22/12/2020 – Presidency Council Member and Minister of State for Civil Society Organisations Ahmed Hamza has discussed with Italian Ambassador Giuseppe Bocino cooperation on issues concerning the southern region. The Presidency Council Communication Office said the meeting which was held at the Council’s headquarters on Monday reviewed mechanism of supporting development in the southern region.

EU special ops to deploy in Mali Wednesday: French minister

Italian Senate approves funding for military mission in Libya

08/08/2020 – The Italian Senate has agreed to resume funding of Italy’s military mission in Libya to train Libyan coastguards in efforts to end illegal immigration.

260 MPs approved the funding motion at the Italian Senate, while 14 others opposed it and two MPs abstained from voting, as Five Stars Movement hailed the commitment of Italy to support the Government of National Accord in fighting illegal immigration, according to Italian news agency Aki. Nigerian Air Force receives second batch of AW109 helicopters

21/01/2020 – The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is about to take into service two more AW109 Power helicopters after they were delivered by air from Italy last week.

The two partially disassembled rotorcraft, along with equipment and spares, arrived at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja on board a Boeing 737-400 Cargolux Airline aircraft from Malpensa International Airport in Italy on 15 January 2020.
