15/07/2020 – The Joint Force, affiliated with the Libyan Army, has given a 48-hour warning to all armed groups in the Salah Al-Din Road, Sidra Road and Al-Shouk Road areas, south of Tripoli, to evacuate residential homes, rest houses and various civilian buildings such as hospitals, ministries, colleges and companies.
The Joint Force demanded on its official site, that the armed groups occupying those areas go to the Second Brigade Camp, informing the offenders that it would take all necessary measures against them, should they choose to ignore this warning.

15/07/2020 – Verified photographic evidence shows indiscriminately placed booby-traps and minefields around the outskirts of Tripoli down to the Sirte since mid-June.
Africa Command (AFRICOM) has clear evidence that Russian employed, state-sponsored Wagner Group laid landmines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in and around Tripoli, further violating the United Nations arms embargo and endangering the lives of innocent Libyans. Verified photographic evidence shows indiscriminately placed booby-traps and minefields around the outskirts of Tripoli down to the Sirte since mid-June. 14/07/2020 – Libya’s eastern-based parliament has called for Egypt to directly intervene in the country’s civil war to counter Turkish support for the internationally recognised Government of National Accord (GNA), based in the capital Tripoli.

08/08/2020 – The Italian Senate has agreed to resume funding of Italy’s military mission in Libya to train Libyan coastguards in efforts to end illegal immigration.
260 MPs approved the funding motion at the Italian Senate, while 14 others opposed it and two MPs abstained from voting, as Five Stars Movement hailed the commitment of Italy to support the Government of National Accord in fighting illegal immigration, according to Italian news agency Aki. 30/06/2020 – Sudan said Sunday it has arrested 122 of its nationals as they headed to neighbouring Libya to fight as « mercenaries », state media reported.

28/06/2020 – After a fourteen-month campaign on Tripoli, forces loyal to the Libyan National Army are in retreat. To those who support the UN-recognized government in Tripoli, this should serve as great news. Since 2012, a power vacuum has consumed Libya following the fall of longtime Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Both sides of the civil war view themselves as the true leaders of Libya. The Government of National Accord is the product of a 2015 UN-brokered agreement, known as the Libyan Political Agreement. This agreement was deemed unacceptable by neighboring Egypt, which originates from their political history with those who make up the GNA.
