11/01/2021 – On Friday, January 8th the GNA leader Fayez al-Sarraj met with an Italian government delegation led by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio; the official meeting took place in Palazzo Chigi.

LNA: Turkey Delivering Military Gear to Militias through Commercial Vessels

 

28/07/2020 – Libyan National Army (LNA) spokesman Ahmed al-Mismari accused on Monday Turkey of delivering military equipment through commercial vessels to militias loyal to the Government of National Accord (GNA).

In televised remarks, he added that Turkey was using American-made tanks and the Hawk missile system on Libyan territories.

The first condition for reaching a ceasefire in Libya is Turkey’s complete withdrawal from the country, he added.

Moreover, Ankara is exploiting the current lull in fighting to bring in more mercenaries to the country, he continued.

Turkish, Egyptian intelligence services vie for influence in Libya

ANKARA/CAIRO – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared recently that his country’s intelligence work on Libyan soil was able to halt the ground progress of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA) while security sources in Cairo told The Arab Weekly that Egyptian intelligence was aware of the smallest details of what was happening in the western side of Libya, which is controlled by the Turkey-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) led by Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj. Turkey’s military pact with Niger securing foothold in neighbouring Libya – The New Khalij

27/07/2020 – Turkey’s newly-signed military agreement with Niger signals Ankara’s interest in maintaining a foothold in the oil rich, war-torn country of Libya next door, The New Khalij reported on Friday.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with President of Niger Mahamadou in Niger on July 21st, when the pair signed a military agreement and discussed the effects of the ongoing war in Libya on their respective countries. Russian, UAE top diplomats discuss situation in Libya, development of bilateral ties

Why Erdogan needs Russian presence in Libya?

17/07/2020 – Ankara supports the Government of National Accord, led by Fayez as-Sarraj, that controls the west of Libya, and Cairo supports the House of Representatives, which, in turn, controls the east of the country, and backs Libyan National Army / Khalifa Haftar.

Libyan official rejects Egypt’s intervention threats

A senior Libyan official on Friday Egypt’s president over recent threats to intervene militarily and arm tribes in the country.

Libya – Joint Force issues armed groups a two-day warning to evacuate southern Tripoli

15/07/2020 – The Joint Force, affiliated with the Libyan Army, has given a 48-hour warning to all armed groups in the Salah Al-Din Road, Sidra Road and Al-Shouk Road areas, south of Tripoli, to evacuate residential homes, rest houses and various civilian buildings such as hospitals, ministries, colleges and companies.

The Joint Force demanded on its official site, that the armed groups occupying those areas go to the Second Brigade Camp, informing the offenders that it would take all necessary measures against them, should they choose to ignore this warning.

Libya army spots arrival of Egyptian weapons for Haftar

15/07/2020 – Haftar says his forces were preparing for ‘major battle’ near Sirte, al-Jufra.
