2018/09/01 – The UN has said that it would provide assistance to no fewer than 6.1 million people affected by the Boko Haram crisis in North-east Nigeria by the end of 2018.

2018/08/31 – Britain will train Nigerian army counterterror squads to fight against Boko Haram under a new security partnership.
The plans will see UK armed forces training full fighting units for the first time, with the aim of equipping them to also tackle Islamic State West Africa (a splinter group from Boko Haram). 2018/03/12 – U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Monday Washington was considering lifting a travel ban on Chad, offering an olive branch to a key ally in the fight against Islamist militant groups in West Africa.
The top U.S. diplomat flew into the Chadian capital, N’Djamena, on the last day of a truncated tour of Africa with stop-offs in Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Nigeria – all frontline partners against Islamic State and al Qaeda off-shoots.
