EU: Adjustment of Sofia Operation to Involve Arms Embargo on Libya Agreed.

22/01/2020 – EU High Representative of Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell has said that EU members have agreed to adjust Sofia Operation concerned with combating trafficking in the Mediterranean to involve forcing of the arms embargo imposed by the UN on Libya. In statements following talks by EU Foreign Ministers here on Monday, Borrell said EU ambassadors and experts were authorized to provide proposals of tangible results on how to impose a ceasefire and execute an arms embargo by the time of the next meeting in Brussels on Feb 17.
