2018/16/11- During a visit to Bulgaria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia Khemaies Jhinaoui commented that there are great opportunities for cooperation between Bulgaria and Tunisia. He was in the country by the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva. This was stated by a press release of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Zaharieva stressed that the two countries have been in warm relations for more than 60 years. « We are proud that our specialists built dams, factories, and dwellings in modern Tunisia, and we are now ready to share with you our experience, » she said.
Opportunities to both countries include the establishment of a Bulgarian-Tunisian Chamber of Commerce, the recruitment of local staff from the Bulgarian technology industry to deal with the unemployment in Tunisia, exchanges in education and science – Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020, as well as the opening of a direct airline between the two countries. Both countries will also focus on concluding a double taxation agreement.
During his visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia also met with the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov, as well as with the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forests Rumen Porozhanov. The purpose of his visit was to restore economic ties with Bulgaria and to cooperate in the private sector.
