Mali – Portuguese Air Force C295 begins Mali operations

21/07/2020 – The Portuguese Air Force has sent a C295 cargo aircraft to the United Nations mission in Mali (Minusma) where it has taken over transport duties from Denmark.

The Portuguese Air Force said the aircraft began operations with Minusma on 15 July after a handover ceremony from the Danish Air Force. Denmark has contributed to Minusma since 2014 and has three times provided a C-130J transport aircraft for the mission (2014, 2017 and 2019/2020). Chad plans military deployment to Mali-Burkina Faso-Niger tri-border area

21/01/2020 – Chad’s defense minister discussed plans to deploy a battalion of military personnel to the Mali-Burkina Faso-Niger tri-border area with his French and Swedish counterparts on Monday, January 20, according to reports.

France’s Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly arrived in Chad’s capital N’Djamena on Sunday to begin a two-day visit to the Sahel region accompanied by Sweden’s Minister for Defence, Peter Hultqvist, the French ministry said in a statement. France, China, Others Collaborate with Nigeria Navy in Curbing Maritime Crimes on Gulf of Guinea

2018/06/10 – As part of moves to curb incidences of maritime crimes on the Gulf of Guinea (GOG) waters, especially piracy and sea robbery, the Nigerian Navy (NN) Wednesday launched a collaboration with France, China, Portugal and three other African navies.
The collaboration was the flag off a regional maritime exercise code named Exercise EKU KEGBE, of which 12 Nigerian Navy ships, alongside others from the participating countries were deployed.
