2018/04/12 – Kuwait Representative to the UN said Wednesday the Agreement on Peace and Reconciliation in Mali remains to be the ideal option for stabilizing the African country.
Speaking to a UN Security Council session on the situation in Mali, Ambassador Mansour A. Al-Otaibi said, « Implementation of the Agreement was the main solution to the crisis. » He appreciated the efforts of the regional mediation team, led by Algeria, and the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). 2018/01/24 – The State of Kuwait welcomed the « positive steps » taken by the Government of the Republic of Mali in defense, security, justice, economic development, and implementation of the peace and reconciliation agreement.

22/11/17 – Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheickh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah met on Tuesday with Niger’s visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Yacouba, on bilateral cooperation.
They also tackled issues of common interest and the deep-rooted ties between both nations.
The kuwaiti Minister stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation in the security domain, the Ministry’sGeneral Department of Public Relations and Security Medias said.
KUWAIT, Oct 14 A loan agreement, totaling KD 9.5 million (USD 32 million), was signed between Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and the Republic of Mali to finance a drinking water project in the Bamako capital district.
According to a statement by KFAED on Saturday, the loan will also help improve social development and economy in the area, through providing adequate amounts of water as a source from Niger River to needed areas due to increase demand of water.
The project consists mainly of civil and electromechanical works to expand the Bamako water project, as a first phase through the construction of a new water treatment plant and the laying of conveyor lines, as well as the construction of reservoirs, pumping stations, distribution networks, household connections and water taps.
The project also includes the provision of consultancy services for the preparation of detailed designs, tender documents, and supervision of implementation, institutional support and project management.
