07/08/2020 – Pictures circulating on social media suggest Russia may have deployed its S-400 air defence system in Libya, an analyst writing for Forbes said on Thursday.
Images posted online appear to show a large radar and vertical missile tubes near Ras Lanuf in eastern Libya. 28/07/2020 – Israel’s presence in Libya has escaped most public knowledge, yet numerous media reports have revealed that Tel Aviv is covertly supporting eastern-based putschist Gen. Khalifa Haftar in Libya against the U.N.-recognized Government of National Accord (GNA).
Israel views its support for Haftar as a tool to secure its own interests. 28/07/2020 – Libyan National Army (LNA) spokesman Ahmed al-Mismari accused on Monday Turkey of delivering military equipment through commercial vessels to militias loyal to the Government of National Accord (GNA).
In televised remarks, he added that Turkey was using American-made tanks and the Hawk missile system on Libyan territories.
The first condition for reaching a ceasefire in Libya is Turkey’s complete withdrawal from the country, he added.
Moreover, Ankara is exploiting the current lull in fighting to bring in more mercenaries to the country, he continued.
