Zim gold smuggled to Dubai via South Africa — Minister

30/06/2020 – GOVERNMENT has expressed concern over the smuggling of the country’s gold to Dubai via South Africa, and is putting in place measures to curb the vice so as to ensure increased formal deliveries of the precious metal.Finance and Economic Development Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube revealed this on Thursday during a field day at the Bubi Gold Milling Centre where he was the guest of honour. The centre was commissioned by Vice-President Dr Constantino Chiwenga last year as a pilot project run by the Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation (ZMDC). How to contain terrorism in Africa

19/11/2019 – For Africans to contain the increasing tension and insecurity plaguing the continent, member states must seriously consider a return to pre-colonial boundaries, togetherness and joint border security management.

Speakers at the 16th Africa Security Watch Awards and Conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), which included military and police chiefs, renowned academia and political leaders from West, Central, South and East African regions agreed on the need to address issues such as religious extremism/ intolerance, bad governance, illiteracy, unemployment and poverty identified as root causes of insecurity in Africa just as participants agreed it was about time the continent developed homegrown lasting solutions to tackle its problems. Mali/UAE – DP World plans to build logistics hub in Mali in Africa push

2018/08/19 – DP World plans to develop a logistics hub in Mali, the latest push by the Dubai-based port operator to expand its operations in Africa.

DP World signed a 20-year concession with Mali to build and operate a 1,000-hectare logistics hub outside of Bamako, the capital and largest city of the country, according to a statement. The Mali Logistics Hub will have inland container depots and container freight stations that will facilitate the import and export of goods. Mali – UAE aircraft carrying 100 tonnes of food supplies arrives in Mali

2018/03/08 – An aircraft carrying 100 tonnes of food supplies arrived in the capital of Mali, Bamako, as a gift from the UAE to improve the country’s humanitarian conditions, as per the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.The donation is also supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and is being monitored by H.H. Burkina Faso seeks new partner for $1bn manganese project

2018/02/25- Burkina Faso is looking for a new partner to mine the world’s largest manganese deposit after rights disputes thwarted two earlier attempts to develop the $1-billion project.

Pan African Minerals, a unit of Timis Mining, was told to stop production at the Tambao mine in 2015 following a change in leadership in the West African nation. The company then petitioned the International Court of Arbitration in Paris to prevent its permit from being withdrawn, but the case is still pending.
