14/07/2019 – The Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha said Saturday that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had provided Khalifa Haftar with mercenaries from Sudan’s Janjaweed and Chadian rebels for him to continue his offensive against Tripoli.
Bashagha added that those mercenaries were getting ready to join the battle on the outskirts of Tripoli and their main mission is help Haftar enter the capital.
“The countries supporting Haftar have resorted to mercenaries to back Haftar’s forces up after the attrition of fighters and after they had lost Gharyan to the Libyan Army forces under the command of the Government of National Accord.” Bashagha remarked.
Many reports have confirmed over the last week that Sudanese and Chadian mercenaries were joining the battle with Haftar’s forces in Tripoli with the UAE being the funding source for those mercenaries.
